Poop Log

Poop has always been a big part of my life as I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome about 6 or 7 years ago. Surgery was a big change for me in this aspect. I went from going poo at least once a day to every few days. It was really hard to get used to at first and, as I have mentioned in previous blogs, often ended in me taking awful medications to force myself to do so. I learned my new "regular" pooping patterns about a month and a half after surgery as would say it is about every other day. Today as I was getting in to bed I realized that I could not remember the last time I pooped! Such a strange phenomenon for me even still. I can't tell you how many times I have given hysterical bowel movement books to family members and friends and even still I get pictures almost weekly from friends of bumper stickers and mugs saying things like "i pooped today!" or "Sorry officer I am speeding because I really have to poop!" Who knew that one day I would actually need to use a book like this. I can't really keep a blog in my phone since people are constantly looking through it. "Why is this date in your phone followed by the words looks like deer poop?" Quite awkward I can imagine. So perhaps I will buy one of these fun books for myself. I am getting excited already :)

Food on the Go

I spend a lot of my time out in the world whether it be at work, in my car, or at a friends house. I have found since surgery there is no more stopping to grab something at Panera Bread, not only because I am dirty poor, but because I can't finish any of the food there. (On a separate note I have decided to go Wheat free but I will talk about that at another time). I thought it might be helpful if I shared some of my food on the go tips and I hope that you can share yours in the comments below as well.

1) Low fat cheese sticks
2) Chobani yogurt
3) Cottage cheese put into salad dressing tupperware (as seen on the right)
4) Water bottles everywhere! 1 for car, 1 for work, 1 for house. I tend to lose things so sometimes it is easier for me to have one dedicated to each spot I am in.
5) cut up veggies in tupperwear

A lot of people drink protein drinks at this point too. For me after the one month of solid protein drinks I never want to see one again.

What are some foods that you like to eat on the go?

I have really found this size of "to go wear" great since it is basically the same size as my stomach now. I don't have these exact ones but if you go to any grocery store you will see ones that are meant for salad dressing and those are usually great.

Bad Date

I was once in love with a fellow who was plump and sweet but tended to melt in the sun. His name was mint-oreo ice cream. The two of us were on a date last night and while I thought it ended nicely I was sadly mistaken. I woke up this morning to him jumping on my stomach, not something a man should do after a date by the way. I ran to the bathroom in hopes that he would be on his way however things did not go as planned. I find that with men they never really do. All of a sudden I felt like throwing up, which by the way is my least favorite thing in the world. That morning I learned a whole different hatred for throw up. Dry heaving!! You see despite my previous date there was nothing left in my stomach to pass so I spent the morning basically burping into the trash can.

Worst date ever, I don't think I will be calling him back
