Hair loss

One of the first negative things I learned about this type of surgery is that you lose some of your hair. I was told that this happens a lot less with gastric sleeve patients. That was in fact part of the reason why I chose this type or surgery. I have very thin hair as is and am pretty sad to see this much hair loss on an almost daily basis. Am I going to go bald?!?! Does rogein work for women? It is too hot to wear wigs!!

Boot camp

One of my best friends talked me into joining a summer boot camp class that meets twice a week for 2 months. Well we started yesterday and let me tell you it was rough!! I knew it would be intense when we started with 35 jumping jacks followed by running and 2 minutes of push-ups. What?!?! About half way through the class I turned to my friend whose birthday is in August and said "it is unfortunate that your birthday is so close because after this you will NOT be getting a birthday present!" Luckily she loves me and pushed me through and I am great full. Having friends is so important during this process and I am feeling blessed to have friends who have my back throughout this journey.

On the left is 2 months after surgery. The second picture is 3 months out.

Georgetown Cupcakes Fail

The diet fairy was clearly looking out for me the other day as I ventured near Georgetown cupcakes in DC. If you have never hear of this name before it is a reality show on TLC of just that, a cupcake store. Clearly it was one of my must see spots as my cousins and I explored DC this past week. On our way home from touring the beautiful Alexandria Virginia we decided to stop by the shop. My cousins was convinced that there would not be a long line despite their popular show. While I thought otherwise, I was silently praying that she was right. As we pulled infront of the store there seemed to be no one there which was amazing. As we turned the corner however there was a line 1 block long. Alas, my chance of sweet red velvet cupcakes had slipped through my fingers. Probably for the best.

Nom nom nom

I know it might be hard to believe, but eating is one of my favorite things to do. That and sleeping which thank The Lord I am still able to do beautifully. Like most people, I made friends with others who shared interests with me. You guessed it! Food! On this beautiful night I went out to dinner with one of my food loving friends and felt the experienced needed sharing. I ordered what I assumed to my a smaller dish of tofu with rice. The picture above is all the food I actually got. And the tiny plate I am pointing to, of which you have to squint to see, is how much I can actually eat. To be truthful it is not even a plate, it is a slab used to pour soy sauce in. This is my life!!

Positives:
1) my boyfriend gets take out dinner for free
2) I now have food for the rest of the month
3) I still get to go out with my friends
4) I NEVER go home hungry

Negatives:
1) I WANT TO EAT IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!
